The brief introduction of the natural
environment
Three thousand years ago this area turned into land and since
then time has brought great changes to this ground. The terrain
---broad, level, high in the west and low in the east, a general
height (the level of Yellow sea as the standard) of 0.0
4-5.46 meters, with an average slope of 1/5000 ----characterizes
this area; Seven first-class and seven second-class watercourse
crosses on the ground, irrigation canals and ditches crisscross
like a spider's web. Numerous low-lying lands, shallow lakes,
pools and ponds spread all over the reservoir. The underground
water level is rather high, the earth's surface is commonly
damp, with salinized soil distributing from west to east.
It has a warm-humid, semi-humid and monsoonal climate-four
seasons are clear, spring and autumn have windy and rainless
weather, summer is wet, autumn is mild, and winter is chilly
and dry. The climate resource is abundant-annual sunshine
time is 2730 hours, temperature 11.80 degrees, rainfall is
584.9mm respectively. The solar radiation is 129.5Kcal. per
square centimeter and the highest water storage is 41 million
cubic meter. Calamities such as drought, water-logging hail
etc will occur occasionally. It covers an area 714656 mu.
And there are seven major types of wild animals, 146 kinds
in all, among which are 135 kinds of wild plants.
